IVIG (for me) and a potential come-home date (for Conner)!

Today, I started IVIG - an MS treatment that is supposed to help me through the next few months.

Of course, can anything go normally for me? Well, not usually. Haha.

On Monday, I saw my family doctor. She called the hospital, and told them that she had faxed (twice) my records to them, and that they should have everything in order. I was to be there at 8:00AM on Tuesday (today) to start treatment. My doctor then also gave me a copy of my records to give to them, in case for some strange reason they still didn't have it. (She even faxed it over a THIRD time).
I arrive at the hospital, only to find that the nurses are completely confused as to why I'm even there. "Oh, sorry Mrs. Friesen, we don't have any record of this..."...... Don't 'Mrs. Friesen' me!! I have the papers too! Wouldn't you know it. They hadn't seen these papers. Oh well. So they figured it out, and treatment finally began...at like 9:00.

Long story short, I was told I would be there for 2-4 hours, and I ended up being there for about 7 and a half. That sucked. I actually sat there and cried - which was kind of hilarious because everyone else sitting in that room knew full well I was crying, and they were all trying SO HARD to avoid eye contact with me!! 'What's wrong with the crazy sad sick girl?'

As soon as I was done there, we headed off to Winnipeg to visit Conner.

Conner is doing well. They ended up weaning him off of his medication by half, and tomorrow they will wean him off of it completely. Today his blood sugar levels have remained stable, so that's a good sign. We are praying that they remain totally stable and that he wows the socks off of his doctors tomorrow and that we get to go home!!!

He had his ultrasound - no results yet. He had his hearing test - that came back normal.

As we were leaving, I saw on the nurses white board that "Baby Friesen" might get to go home on "Thursday?" ...yes it had a question mark beside it. But at least we made it onto the white board. That's progress, right?

Oh - and the crazy nurse let me give my own baby a bath today - but made sure I knew that he had to burp while being fed, and be put to sleep on his back, "okay?". (WOW).

:) xoxo
