It's still in his arm today, but is not running anymore.
They ended up starting Conner on a medication called Diazoxide. It is supposed to reduce his insulin levels, so that his sugar levels can go up. And it has been working!! He has been having GREAT numbers. So great, that they decided to wean him off of the IV quite quickly, and now he is able to bottle much more food - which makes for a much happier baby.
We are hoping and praying that this drug is his "get out of jail free" card and we will be able to go home soon.
Some time tomorrow, Conner is going for a head and abdomen ultrasound. They are checking his head for abnormalities, and they are checking his abdomen (or more specifically, his pancreas) to see if there is a mass in there that is producing too much insulin. The doctor told me to not worry - it's very rare. In fact, he said that in his entire career, he's never seen one. I'm trying to not worry about it. They just have to be thorough and check everything out.
That's all for now...
xoxo
