Birthday Shenanigans

I turned 25 on Friday. Don't worry, I survived.

Rob planned all sorts of wonderful things for my birthday!

Friday started off with a yummy breakfast at Green Tree in Steinbach, followed by a super fantastic supper at Red Lobster with really good friends of ours. It was lovely.

Saturday, I was surprised with a shopping trip to Winnipeg with my sister in law. Fun! I found some really cute shorts and a fancy-ish top. Didn't spend a lot of money - it's probably better that way.

After that, I was pretty sure that all birthday celebrations were over. On Sunday, we went to church, came home to have a nap, and then headed out to the zoo - complete with a packed picnic supper.

We arrive at the zoo, and it's raining. Bummer. So we decided to hit up the mall for a while and see if the rain would pass. We walked around the mall for about 45 minutes, and then headed back to the zoo. To our amazement, the sky was clearing and it was not raining! Rob took really weird turns, and kept doing weird u-turns...I was getting annoyed. Like, what are you doing? The zoo is RIGHT there. Seriously. Finally he turned, and as we're driving, I notice my mom and dad's truck, my friend's car, my other friend's truck. Um, Rob? What's going on? Rob proceeded to tell me "Kara, calm down. They make lots of cars like that". HA.

Needless to say, there were about 15-20 of my nearest and dearest there to surprise me!! It was incredible - I cried a little!

We had a yummy BBQ of farmer sausage burgers (YUM) and hotdogs, with salad, chips, cake, donuts...oh it was excellent. What a great day!!

Best birthday weekend ever thanks to the best husband ever. (And thanks to Joyce and my mom for helping with the planning of the surprise party).
