Breathe In...

Christmas is over.

We still have one more gathering on January 3rd, but as far as I'm concerned, it's time to relax now.

I never knew how much more difficult Christmas could be with an almost 1 year old. It was fun - but exhausting!

Isaiah got some noisy toys (thanks to BOTH sets of Grandparents), some clothes, books, socks, among other things. Even a toothbrush! I guess I should start brushing his teeth now...he's going to love that.

I got my sewing machine - and a foot spa. I used the foot spa last night. Oh yeah. It's the best thing ever.

We have been busy (and I mean BUSY) non-stop since Christmas eve. It's time to relax now. Christmas eve we had a program at church in the evening, and then after that we headed to Dad & Carol's for a little "gathering" of sorts with the Martens family. It's a tradition - we do it every year. Since Dad & Carol and my parents live basically a block apart, we stayed at my parent's place for night. It just made more sense because we were going there the next day anyway. We could have stayed at Dad & Carol's but people were going to be there WELL into the night and Rob still had to work in the morning. Christmas Day was spent at my parent's house, eating WAY too much (for those of you that know my mom, you'll know that she makes enough food to feed 3 armies and their families), opening gifts, playing games, doing puzzles (another family tradition). We stayed there for night again as Boxing Day was Christmas with Rob's family. So Boxing Day we made our way over to Dad & Carol's and ate a ton there (pretty sure I gained 10 pounds), and had Christmas with the brothers, sisters, and step brothers and sisters for the first time. It was different. Definitely un-chartered territory for everyone, but we'll all get used to it eventually. That brings us to Sunday. The Friesen Gathering at Rob's Grandpa's. We only stayed until about 5:00. Rob and I were both completely exhausted.
And now it's Monday.

...aaand breathe out.
