Yep, you guessed it. Today is my birthday. I am 23! I never thought I would have a 6 month old baby by the time I was 23 but that's okay. I love being a mom! (Most of the time).
Rob surprised me yesterday. I LOVE surprises. He came home from work, and everything seemed pretty normal, except for the fact that he was happier than normal. By that, I mean, he was giddy. Like, little schoolgirl giddy. I couldn't figure it out. Then all of a sudden I hear the front door open and Rob says "Oh good, your babysitter is here." My WHAT NOW? Yessiree, Nadine (my sister in law) was here to babysit and Rob was taking me to Winnipeg to celebrate my birthday. I was very excited, but very nervous at the same time. It is for some reason really hard for me to leave Isaiah with anyone other than my parents. But I survived and I think I would definitely do it again. So here's how our date went:
We got to Winnipeg, went to St. Vital Mall and watched Night At The Museum 2. It was SO good. Oh - but that's not the best part. Yesterday was Tuesday. SO we got our tickets for about 2 bucks cheaper (apparently Tuesdays are deal days) AND when we got our tickets it came with a little stub that said "Good for 2 regular drinks and 2 regular sized popcorns". We were PUMPED. We weren't even going to get snacks because a.) they are WAY overpriced and b.) we wanted to save our appetites for supper. But, like any other good mennonite would, we immediately made our way to the food people (what are they called?) and got our free snacks.
After the movie was over we headed over to Wal-Mart to buy my birthday present. What was it? Wii Active Personal Trainer. That's right. Now I have NO excuse for not being in shape because this thing is BRUTAL and really hard...well, hard for me, the most un-shapey person in the entire world.
...My baby just fell asleep in his swing...*Pause* ... *sigh*.... ok, moving on:
So after picking up my gift at Wal-Mart we quickly stopped at Chapters so that I could pee (didn't know just wanna know that?) and picked up a little gift for Nadine to thank her for looking after Isaiah for us. Then it was off to RED LOBSTER!
Red Lobster, as some of you will already know, is my most favorite restaurant. We were expecting to have to wait for a long time like we usually do, but it was TUESDAY so we didn't have to wait at all. Have I mentioned how much I love Tuesdays? Tuesday also comes with the "Shrimp Lovers Tuesday" meal offer. Did I order this? Of course not. What do I always order? Popcorn shrimp. My entire family makes fun of me because I never order anything else. Whatever. It's what I like. So after we were completely stuffed with Cheddar Bay Buscuits, Ceasar salad, and about 3 glasses of iced tea, our meal came. Wow. So much food - and it comes so fast! We were seriously out of there within 45 minutes. Amazing.
Then we came home and decided to start up the Active. Of course, I was volunteered to go first. Long story short, my legs STILL feel like rubber this morning. I can hardly walk properly. It's really quite hilarious how incredibly out of shape I am. Yikes.
Well that pretty much sums up how my birthday celebration went down. Rob was going to take me out today, on my actual birthday, but he has a church baseball game tonight. Which is fine, because I enjoy watching his games.
Now that Isaiah is sleeping it's nap time for this mommy! Later.

Sounds like you had a great date! I think it's really cool that they have cheaper movie nights with free food on Tuesdays! We've only taken advantage of that once so far.
Happy Birthday! Have a great nap.
(It gets easier to leave them with different people the more you do it. Although, family is always the easiest:-))
